Takedown Radio adds NCWA to Affiliate Network

Takedown Wrestling Radio and its TV/Internet partner TDR TV have united in effort with the National Collegiate Wrestling Association in promoting the sport of wrestling. Now the NCWA has mounted and will present on a regular basis TDR TV news on its home page at NCWA.net.
"We see TDR TV as an integral part of communication within the wrestling community,” said NCWA Executive Director Jim Giunta, and are looking forward to working with Scott Casber and his team to get the word out about the NCWA and it’s member institutions. TDR is a class operation and we are blessed to be part of their network.”

Borrelli Coaching Tree Extends Across the Country

Central Michigan head wrestling coach Tom Borrelli is recognized nationally for his ability to mold championship-caliber student-athletes. In 18 seasons at CMU, Borrelli has coached 29 All-Americans and led CMU to 10 Mid-American Conference championships and 11 conference tournament titles. He has been named MAC Coach of the Year 10 times.
In recent years, Borrelli's influence on intercollegiate wrestling has begun to spread through the coaching ranks as well. At least 33 individuals with ties to the Borrelli era at CMU are now involved in coaching at either the college, high school or club level.

Mance to Direct Development for ASU Wrestling

Paul Mance, who retired as Appalachian State University's head wrestling coach this year, will remain involved with ASU wrestling as the program's director of development, director of athletics Charlie Cobb has announced. In the position, Mance will work directly with senior associate A.D. Rick Beasley to oversee the fundraising efforts for Appalachian's wrestling program.

U.S. to Face Russia in Iowa Freestyle Wrestling Meet

A team of top U.S. wrestlers will compete Nov. 18 in a freestyle dual meet against a team from Russsia in Mount Vernon, Iowa. ccording to a press release, the meet will be held at the Small Multi-Sports Center at Cornell College. More
Norwich Reinstates Wrestling

Norwich University officials announced that due to record enrollments in the freshmen class, the wrestling program will not be cut from the university's varsity sports lineup but will remain fully funded beyond this season.

Iowa Wrestling: Hawkeyes without Heavyweight

Iowa's quest for a third consecutive NCAA wrestling title will begin without its All-American heavyweight. Senior Dan Erekson will undergo surgery to repair a pectoral tear. He said the injury occurred when he was wrestling Jordan Johnson in practice. Erekson said doctors told him he would likely be sidelined two to three months.

Seven Lehigh University Wrestlers Ranked

The recent crush of cool weather, and the colors and smells of autumn are making people think about winter.
Wrestling season is right around the corner, and while high school wrestlers can't officially begin practicing until Nov. 20, college practice began. Lehigh University is expecting to see a big improvement at nationals this year under second-year head coach Pat Santoro, the Bethlehem native who went on to win two NCAA titles at the University of Pittsburgh.
