NMMA adds 2 new standards, strengthens its boat and yacht certification program
NMMA
Share

Last week NMMA announced its boat and yacht Certification program has added two new standards for model year 2012, making it stronger and more comprehensive to ensure recreational boats meet standards that make them safer than ever before. The two new standards are gasoline and propane detection systems and galvanic isolators.
NMMA Certified boats meet rigorous standards set by the American Boat &
Yacht Council and exceed regulations set by the United States Coast Guard (USCG). In total there are 47 categories of standards that must be met in order for a boat to become NMMA Certified. Over the last five years alone, NMMA has added 15 new sets of standards including everything from electric/electronic propulsion control systems in model year 2008, to anchoring, mooring and strong points in model year 2010.

NMMA will soon be launching the sixth year of the Access America Marine Export Guide with new features this year, making it more user-friendly. The new features include direct
e-mail, website and social networking links added to expanded each company's listing, a customizable keyword search area allowing users to choose to show or hide Advanced Search features, an updated category search area making it easier to browse suppliers by specialty and a searchable Product Showcase, which highlights the best items you have to offer. What's more, rotating product listings on the search homepage link directly back to your website so users have instant access to specific
information on product features, pricing, and more.
Packages which include a graphically robust company listing with direct Web, e-mail, and social media links, as well as a list of your products and brands, start at $175 for an entire year. Future hiring to benefit highly skilled workers
Manufacturing Management News Now
Share

American workers faced a sobering reality as they celebrated the U.S. holiday of Labor Day at a time of high unemployment, scant hiring and a widespread loss of job security: economists foresee fewer moderately paid factory supervisors, postal workers and office administrators. Not until 2014 or later is the United States expected to have regained all, or
nearly all, the 8.4 million jobs lost to the recession. Millions of lost jobs in real estate, for example, aren't likely to be restored this decade, if ever.
