In an analysis of 13 studies, women who received a multivitamin had a 17 percent greater reduction in the risk of having a baby with low birth weight, Prakesh Shah, M.D., of Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, and colleagues reported in the Canadian Medical Association Journal.
