Protect consumer access to homeopathic products
Natural Products Association
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently held a two-day meeting regarding regulations surrounding homeopathic products. Critics of these products are arguing for more stringent and unnecessary provisions that would affect consumer access to a wide range of homeopathic products on the market today, including their removal from the marketplace. NPA believes that the FDA has all of the tools necessary to take immediate and corrective action to remove dangerous products. If the FDA begins to require additional premarket authorization processes, it will become overwhelming and will likely create a three-year backlog that will interfere with the innovation of new homeopathic remedies and block consumer access to products. It's imperative we work together as an industry to prevent this from becoming a reality. We urge you to take action and tell the FDA that the current regulations are effective and that there is no need to implement alternatives to what is currently a workable approach to overseeing these products. Ensure consumer access to homeopathic remedies is protected. Contact the FDA now.

Tell Congress to oppose the dietary supplement labeling act once it is reintroduced
Natural Products Association
Given the current amount of negative media scrutiny regarding the dietary supplement industry, the Natural Products Association (NPA) anticipates that Sen. Richard Durbin, D-Ill., will soon reintroduce the Dietary Supplement Labeling Act. NPA firmly believes that this new legislation will create redundant regulations for the industry, as well as include provisions that will make getting your quality products to consumers more difficult. NPA supports the federal government’s efforts to rid the market of unlawful products, but strongly believes that this legislation would impose overly burdensome regulations on the legitimate dietary supplement industry. The Food and Drug Administration has said repeatedly it does have all the tools it needs to fully regulate. The scrutiny surrounding the dietary supplement industry shows no signs of letting up. That is why it's imperative that you reach out to your lawmakers as soon as possible to get in front of any adversarial legislation from Sen. Durbin. Please join us in urging Congress to oppose this potential legislation, and protect your ability to do business. Take action now and contact your lawmaker today.
