2015 U.S. Bugs Without Borders Survey
NPMA
NPMA is conducting a survey with the University of Kentucky once again to learn about the industry’s most recent experiences with bed bugs. We want to know what’s happening with this pest in your business and in your community. The results will identify trends to help professionals better understand the latest findings with bed bugs and they will be shared with the media and the public as education on society’s new norms with this pest. In order to ensure we have the most meaningful data available, we need wide-spread industry involvement from pest management companies operating in the United States. Please participate! We ask that you complete the survey as soon as possible but by no later than March 20th. Survey results will be shared this spring.

Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) AQI Fee Increase
NPMA
Congresswoman Frederica Wilson of Florida introduced the Fair and Transparent Stakeholder Involvement (FATI) Fee Act (H.R. 1091), a bill prohibiting the Secretary of Agriculture from finalizing the pending AQI fee increase rulemaking and instead directing USDA to work with stakeholders to develop an alternative proposal through the negotiated rulemaking process. Subterranean Termite NPMA-99A & 99-B Forms
NPMA
NPMA staff met with officials at the U.S. Agency of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) this week. HUD officials confirmed that the updated NPMA-99A & 99-B forms were submitted unchanged and are in the final approval process at the Office of Budget Management (OMB). NPMA-99A & 99B are set to expire on April 30, 2015. NPMA staff will continue to monitor until NPMA-99A & B are reauthorized for a three year period.
