And when the weather gets as cold as it is now, the ice on frozen lakes can get quite thick. But Ed Schlottack, who ice fishes every day, says the ice at Chatfield State Park can be deceiving. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger recently released his budget summary for 2010-11. His budget proposal includes a new controversial strategy to fund all 278 state parks using revenues from an oil offshore drilling project that may never happen.
