FIELDTURF CONTINUES TO GAIN APPROVAL AS AN ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE PRODUCT

MONTREAL, QUEBEC (June 4, 2008) – Recent findings continue to conclude that FieldTurf poses no harm to anyone or to the environment. Based on testing results acquired in the month of April, the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (NJDHSS) tested 12 artificial turf fields and found that there are "very low or undetectable levels of lead" in the polyethylene fibers used by FieldTurf.

New reports have surfaced stating that artificial turf may pose a health risk. These reports are referring to the old-style nylon turfs. Current findings continue to demonstrate the safety of the FieldTurf product.

The NJDHSS, in its April report, stated that "high levels of lead" were found in the nylon turf fibers that they tested - old style, carpet-like fibers that are not even remotely similar to FieldTurf’s fibers. FieldTurf has never used nylon fibers.

The fibers in the FieldTurf system, installed on more than 200 fields in the Garden State and over 2500 fields worldwide, have a positive impact on the environment because FieldTurf uses only environmentally friendly components.
