Brian joins 62 others on the 2014 MAC Hermann watch lists

2013 Women's Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy winner Morgan Brian (Virginia/St. Simons Island, South Carolina) is one of 63 NCAA Division I players tagged as the leading players to watch this season that could vie for the 2014 MAC Hermann Trophy. The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most prestigious individual award in NCAA soccer presented annually to one male and one female athlete.

Survey: Abuse of prescription painkillers on rise among high school athletes

Abuse of prescription painkillers is on the rise among high school athletes, and football players are among the worst offenders, a new study shows. Generally, the student athletes used illegal substances more often than their peers who did not play sports, the study showed. Overall, substance abuse was more common among boys than girls. Football players, the researchers noted, used the most illegal drugs.
