Hotels Wanted for Green Hotel Pilot Project

For the past two years, the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association (NYSH&TA) has participated in the New York State Green Hospitality & Tourism Partnership. The group has been working towards developing a New York State endorsed green hotel certification for the lodging industry.

The Partnership is currently collaborating with the New York State Pollution Prevention Institute (NYSP2I) and Audubon International – Green Leaf Environmental to conduct a Green Hotel Certification Pilot Project.

Forty-four (44) Pilot hotels are currently being sought for participation in this project.

2009 Summer Business Survey Results

NYSH&TA would like to thank all of its members who participated in the 2009 Summer Hospitality Business Outlook Survey. According to the survey results:
  • 66% of respondents said advanced summer bookings are lower than last year
  • 64% expected summer bookings to be down significantly compared to last year, particularly midweek bookings
  • 47% of survey respondents will focus on boosting peak season stays
  • 51% are considering deeper/expanded deals or discounts relative to last year
