Here's an easy, fun, video contest, and
the winner gets a quick $500(USD),
PLUS
their video seen through online marketing outlets WORLDWIDE. That's right,
your chance to get credit for the kind of stuff you do for fun anyway, get
famous, launch a second career, get rich, go wildly out of control... Well,
never mind all that. Here are the rules:
- The video should be ONE minute or LESS.
- Shoot it on anything you like: camcorder, cell
phone, still camera with 30 second video - it doesn't have to be high
quality.
- The TOPIC is hotels or restaurants
- you want to show a BAD
example of service from a front desk clerk, a housekeeper or a restaurant server.
Choose one, or do one for each. Think of funny stuff NOT to do in each
of these jobs.
- There is a SAMPLE clip on the video at the end
of the rules to show you what we mean.
- Contestants do not have to be a hotel or
restaurant employee to participate.
- No branding or logos visible in your video,
please. No copyrighted songs, pictures or material.
- Make it FUNNY, but keep it PG - no
swearing, nudity, or bloodshed.
- The DEADLINE for submissions is May 29, 2009.
- By submitting your video, you agree that EI can utilize
your NAME, and the video, for marketing purposes, including social media
outlets.
- Need to gather information on the topics? Go to www.ahlei.org/trac for information on the
TRAC program (Train, Retain, Assess, Certify), which covers line-level
training for front desk representative, guestroom attendant, and
restaurant server; all the topics you need to work on your video!
- Don't forget to UPLOAD your video for submission
to YouTube in our video response section!
- All videos will be judged on ORIGINALITY, humor,
and sticking to the message - Which is... how NOT to do these jobs.
