Ontario teachers: No labour talks this summer could threaten school year
Metro News
There are still no dates set for labour talks between the Ontario government and two teachers' unions, an absence of dialogue that school boards say threatens the upcoming academic year. The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario, the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation and the province have all confirmed there are no talks scheduled for the summer.

GO Transit buses benefiting from Pan Am HOV rules

GO Transit said its bus lines are hugely benefiting from the new Pan Am Games HOV rules, which have frustrated many motorists. The transit agency said bus routes that were averaging 15-20 minute delays last month are now consistently arriving on time or even early in some cases.

New rules could affect ability to challenge tickets in Ontario

The provincial government is looking into new rules for driving offences, which some say will make it harder for Ontario drivers to fight traffic tickets. Ministry of the Attorney General spokesman Brendan Crawley says the province is exploring new ways for Ontarians to pay or challenge traffic tickets and other Provincial Offences Act charges, by shifting to an online payment system.

Warm weather leads to hot heads on Ontario roads

Young drivers in Ontario have plenty of gripes about other drivers on the road, and tempers could flare this summer as construction related delays add to driver frustration. According to the ingenie Road Rage Report, summer is the most infuriating driving season; 58 per cent of young drivers are frustrated by construction related delays in the summer while only 18 per cent are bothered by bad weather in the winter.
