Donate to the OMCA Golf Tournament and help the Mary Lynn Higgins Youth Fund
OMCA
Last year OMCA and all participating golfers and attendees successfully raised $2,580 for the Mary Lynn Higgins Youth Fund (MLHYF). This year, we're looking to surpass that number at OMCA's 45th Annual Golf Tournament on Aug. 18. All proceeds will be donated to the MLHYF.

The MLHYF is a great organization that provides opportunities for underprivileged youth to join their classmates on class trips. We are asking our members, regardless of golf participation, to join us once again in this very worthy cause by making a donation(s) valued at $100 or more, to be raffled off during our golf dinner and awards night.

For more information or to make a donation, email Rozi Humphrey at info@omca.com.

Pan Am's HOV lanes spur 'huge growth' in ride-sharing
The Globe and Mail
Spurred by the Pan Am Games and facilitated by new technology, ride-sharing is having a moment in Toronto — and carpooling advocates are hoping the habit will stick after the athletes have left town. With the competition in full swing — including events in 19 disciplines Tuesday at venues across the region — there are few signs of the predicted traffic apocalypse. Although the usual summer drop in traffic volume is likely helping, some people are clearly choosing to change their commuting behaviour.
