MTO Extends Date for RAs to Respond to DCP Curriculum Document
OMCA
As reported in OMCA Report (July 12, 2013), MTO is making significant changes to the Driver Certification Program to tighten up oversight, increase program integrity, and to administer the program on a full cost recovery basis. MTO is also reviewing the curriculum for commercial class licence upgrades. MTO sent all RAs a 66-page document (PDF) back on July 11, asking that RAs review it and submit comments to the Evaluation & Training Office by August 9. We have asked MTO for an extension to that date in view of the very short deadline and summer vacations. MTO has agreed to extend the date to August 23. OMCA, as well as OSBA, OPTA, and OTA are taking a close look at the document and have expressed concerns about the content and methodology. We are meeting regularly with MTO staff to discuss these concerns and make recommendations on how to improve it. RAs are encouraged to look at the document and respond to MTO by August 23rd. We would appreciate having a copy of any submissions to MTO.
