Last year, Edudemic published a list of the most essential and popular educational tools used in modern classrooms across the globe. While many of 2013's contenders retain top spots for 2014, there are a few new and noteworthy tools that made it onto this year's list, and some of last year's mentions have shifted in the rankings. We highly recommend taking a look at these "battle-tested" teaching tools; some of them may be a perfect fit for your modern classroom.

Still time to make the deadline for the PAECT 2015 Awards submission!

PAECT is fortunate to have many great and talented individuals who represent our association. Our members help us connect, develop, lead and advocate for educational technology in Pennsylvania. One way we show our recognition of the efforts accomplished by our members and friends is at the annual conference. This year's awards banquet will be held Feb. 9 at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center as a part of the PETE&C conference. Please look through the awards in the downloadable file and submit your nomination(s) on the PAECT.org awards site. Please submit information about individuals you feel deserve to be honored to Mary Beth Hengelbrok at mhengelbrok@gmail.com, no later than Dec. 31.

Date: Feb. 8-11, 2015. Registration is open!
The Pennsylvania Educational Technology Expo and Conference is a statewide event that provides quality programs focused on technology in the educational field. Each year, hundreds of exhibitors showcase their latest technology products and services to the vast audience of teachers, administrators, technology directors, school board members and more. Monday and Tuesday mornings kick off with keynote speakers that will both educate and inspire you. Throughout the three days, you can attend concurrent sessions and student showcases. There is something for everyone at PETE&C!

Join us for the next Google Camp
NYSCATE
The fourth Google Camp hosted by NYSCATE and SAANYS was announced last week. This event will take place Thursday, Jan. 29, at the Statler Hotel on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca. Registration for the event is $125 per person and includes registration, breaks, lunch and a Google Chromecast unit. Registrations are limited to 150, so please register today.
