Cutting Camper Cords for Copper

Copper thieves are hitting
close to home; they’re targeting your home away from home. Investigators in
Chippewa County, Wis., say copper thefts died down after recent scrap yard
raids, but they say it's on the rise again. In the past couple weeks, thieves
have cut the electrical cords out of at least nine campers. It's something
investigators say they haven't seen before and a criminal you can help catch.

Gas Prices Drop
Record Amount

A 53-cent drop in gas prices
over the last two weeks has set another record, and the publisher of a national
survey predicts that prices will continue to decline – but at a slower pace. The
average price of self-serve, unleaded gas in the U.S. as of Friday was $2.78 a
gallon, compared to $3.31 on Oct. 10, said Trilby Lundberg, publisher of the
nationwide Lundberg Survey. More

Sued for Allowing Haze to Obscure National Parks

Two
conservation groups are suing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to force
the federal agency to clean up emissions that cloud the air over national parks
and wilderness areas. The groups want the court to order the EPA to determine
whether states have submitted complete plans required by the Clean Air Act to
prevent and remedy haze air pollution in national parks and wilderness areas.
