RV sales up this year

More people are buying RVs and campers this year. The information comes from the organizers at the North Carolina RV and Camping show. Despite the weakened economy, attendance is up over last year. Vendors also report an increased number of sold RVs. More

Timber Ridge is a private, family-oriented resort nestled in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The resort is available for year round use to owners and Getaway members. Adjacent to the Chattahoochee National Forest, they are located within 275 acre Mountain Lakes Resort which has a gated entrance and 24-hour security. Two people have been killed, two injured, and at least six RVs destroyed in the last three weeks across the U.S. in incidents linked to the use of electric space heaters. The winter heating season has arrived, and fire officials say more caution needs to be exercised by those who would take off the chill with space heaters. More

Builder Patrick Moeller says he knew what he was doing when he loaned his recreational vehicle, dubbed "Eagle One" to three of his employees. He even knew they were Dallas Cowboys fans and that they planned to drive it 26 hours from Long Beach Island, N. J., to the heart of Texas.

A grand trip through the canyon

Despite the recent snowfall on the rim, it is early spring in the canyon and the dark greens of spruce trees clinging to the canyon ledges contrast with the emerald green plants blanketing Tonto Plateau far below. A narrow trail winds to the plateau's farthest edge, an edge shaped by the rapidly moving Colorado River. More


RV and bus maker Thor Industries shifts management structure

Recreational vehicle maker Thor Industries said that it has realigned its management structure to find new growth opportunities. Thor said Ron Fenech, 52, will become senior group president, and all Thor RV divisions will report to him. He was president of Thor's Keystone RV unit, one of several brands of RVs that Thor makes. More
