As in every other winter, this community in eastern Pasco County has swelled with silver-haired visitors escaping the blustery climes of Michigan, New York and Maine. Jose Moniz thinks RVers — of all colors, ages and incomes — are a special breed of adventurous people. RV maker Winnebago Industries, Inc. of Forest City, Iowa, has been recognized for the ninth consecutive year as the nation's top-selling motor home manufacturer according to Statistical Surveys, Inc., a retail reporting service in Grand Rapids, Mich. Winnebago Industries' dealers retailed more Class A and Class C motor homes combined than any other manufacturer's dealer group in calendar 2009, achieving 19.2 percent market share versus 18.3 percent market share for calendar 2008. If you own a recreational vehicle and park it on the street outside your house, you may soon need to find a new place to keep it. The Las Cruces City Council in New Mexico will consider amending city ordinance to restrict recreational vehicles from being parked in residential neighborhoods for long periods of time. The ordinance would also make it unlawful to occupy a recreational vehicle as a residence unless certain city criteria are met. More
