Elkhardt, Ind., is the groundhog of the recovery. As home to much of what's left of the recreational vehicle industry, Elkhardt has been the poster child of the Great Recession. It is regularly cited as an example of what's not working with the economy. So, when we say that signs of a recovery are appearing in the RV industry, let's hope Elkhardt doesn't get frightened by its shadow and disappear for another six months. What's billed as the world's first theme cruise for RV enthusiasts will enable RVers to combine cruising on a big ship with seminars about RVing. The seven day eastern Caribbean cruise will depart Miami on Nov. 6, aboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Epic of the Seas. Besides the standard cruise events and amenities, the sailing adventure will include 14 hours of education about RVs and the RV lifestyle. After months cooped up indoors, many say they're ready to head outside and bask in the summer sunshine.
