National Park Service Threatens Takeover of Six California Parks from The New York Times The National Park Service is warning that it might take over six California state parks if they are closed under a proposal from Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for addressing severe state budget shortfalls. The parks, which formerly were federal properties, could revert to the U.S. government if the state does not keep them open, NPS Pacific West Regional Director Jon Jarvis warned the Republican governor. California could also lose millions of dollars in federal grants if it closes other state parks. More

D., Reviewing Limits on RVs from The Associated Press via The Daily Republic A proposed ordinance being written in Sioux Falls would limit how long motor homes can park in campgrounds. Planning and zoning officials say motor homes and travel trailers are not suitable as permanent dwellings for health and safety reasons and should be forced to move after 180 days. More
