RV Park Rate Increase Suggested from Waynesville Daily Guide Visitors to Waynesville’s RV park in Missouri could see a rate increase as the city plans to wrap up renovations after flood damages. City Administrator Bruce Harrill said the estimated renovation cost is $85,000 and the Federal Emergency Management Agency will reimburse the city for $50,780 to bring the park to where it was before the flooding.

U.S. National Parks Endangered by Climate Change from The Christian Science Monitor Two environmental groups met recently pointing to 25 jewels of the National Park System as examples of how climate change poses an immediate threat to America’s recreational, historical, and scenic gems. In a report titled “National Parks in Peril,” the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Rocky Mountain Climate Organization say that some national parks may simply disappear in part or whole (due to sea level rise) if the emissions of greenhouse gases are not reduced significantly in future years.

New Report Examines Camping Trends from RV News Magazine As budget-minded Americans return in droves to the outdoors this summer, The Outdoor Foundation, in partnership with The Coleman Company, Inc., released the Special Report on Camping -- a new research report detailing important information and trends on car, backyard and RV campers in the U.S. Among other findings, the report reveals a sizable 7.4 percent increase in car and backyard camping in 2008.
