RVing Couple Lend Hand in Difficult Times
from The Troy Record
You can't hide from a spouse in a camper. Good thing Jim Caverly and wife Jeanne Meyer-Caverly usually get along well. Before traveling full-time, they took the rig to New Orleans to assist the American Red Cross after Hurricane Katrina. Having a comfortable place to sleep recharged them for days spent feeding storm victims in some of the most devastated areas. More    E-mail article

Study: Using RV Generator at Home Could Pose Risks
from RV News Service
RVers who use their portable–or presumably their rig's–generator at home in time of a power outage could put themselves at high risk for carbon monoxide poisoning. The National Institute of Standards and Technology released findings of an experimental study to determine how close a generator can be placed to a home, while not risking occupants' lives with gasoline generator emissions. Financing, Not Demand, Slows RV Sales in Past Year
from The Florida Times-Union
With America's baby boomers hitting their golden years, recreational vehicle manufacturers and sellers expected a skyrocket in sales. But then came the financial meltdown of 2008, and the boom went bust as money in peoples' 401(k) accounts dried up with the stock market, and banks tightened their lending requirements. Because of that, buyers didn't get loans to make purchases, and retailers couldn't get financing to put new RVs on their lots. More     E-mail article

Upgrading Your RV TV
from RV NOW
For many having a TV in the RV is unnecessary because they take the RV out on weekends and vacation, spending most of their time outdoors.
