No longer just popular among college students and retirees, the RV road trip we believe is set for a big comeback with the introduction of the 2011 Eddie Bauer Airstream. While more popular with all age groups in countries like Australia, RVing hasn't quite caught on with younger travelers in America. However, with this partnership of two legendary brands, we're hoping for a resurgence of the great American RV road trip. More

Twin Pines RV Park and Campground, Lander, Wyo.

If you've ever wanted to sit on your front porch in the middle of July and look at snowcapped mountain peaks, or watch the sunset over the Rocky Mountains, visit the Twin Pines RV Park and Campground. The park is easily accessible from the highway, and is located within sight of where highway 789/287, and highway 28 converge to form the major highway route north to Yellowstone National Park, and is an easy three-hour drive from the southern entrance to Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and the beautiful mountain town of Jackson Hole.

Hot showers and Wi-Fi make RV winter camping a nice getaway
The Kansas City Star    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
When most people think about winter camping, they think about snow caves, tents buried in snow, wet and clammy clothing, frozen boots, hypothermia and frostbite. It doesn't have to be that way. How about your tent trailer, camper or other RV, and a toasty heater, electric plug-ins and Wi-Fi? More

Gasoline. This eight letter word represents the fuel that gets us to work every day, but it also represents a source of anxiety for many vehicle owners. Gas prices keep rising, and there aren't many signs of relief. According to AAA, the current national average for a gallon of regular gasoline is $3.51, up from $2.75 one year ago. "Gasoline prices across the nation rose 33 cents a gallon on average the past two weeks," adds USA Today, "prompting some analysts to fret that pump prices could soon hit the $4-a-gallon psychological barrier and stall the USA's nascent economic recovery." Fuel-efficient models highlight Oregon RV Show and Sale
KEZI-TV    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
As spring and summer inch closer, you're bound to see more RVs on the highway. Eugene, Ore., RV manufacturers and dealers say sales continue to rise since the recession. Perhaps the biggest indicator of that is the activity at the Oregon RV Show and Sale. Dealers say the big improvements this year are lighter RVs that are also more fuel-efficient. Sutton RV General Manager Eric Benson says last year was basically the kick-off for lightweight sales. He says a small, silver RV is his top seller right now, and says he's never before seen more sales in this line of lightweights. More

Peoria Journal Star    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Wall-to-wall motor homes, travel trailers, boats, golf carts and all-terrain vehicles recently filled the Peoria Civic Center for the 29th annual Central Illinois Recreational Show. "We're pretty proud of covering the entire umbrella of outdoor shows, and we pride ourselves on being a family show," said Denny Johnston, show coordinator for Events Ltd. "As the economy has gotten tighter, this business just keeps opening up. A guy doesn't want to spend all his money at a hotel. He wants to go out with his family and not have to spend a ton of money." More

The luxury RV experience

RVing today is not your grandfather's RVing. While you can do a budget trip — since rental costs and gas prices may not make RVing much cheaper than hotel/drive vacations — you can just as easily surround yourself in luxury. From the RVs themselves, to the campgrounds created for them, upscale amenities are being added all the time. More
