They are located only a short distance from several great attractions: Redwood National Park, Redwood National Park tide pool walks, hiking trails, and other informational programs, Stout Grove is 8 miles east on Highway 199. One of the world’s most magnificent Redwood Groves. Smith River National Recreation Area offers crystal clear water, kayaking, fishing, rafting, hiking and swimming in the summer. Fishing for Salmon and Steelhead during open seasons. Charter boats and guide services are available. Pacific Ocean – only two miles away – offers wild beaches, surfing, beach combing, fishing, and whale watching. Battery Point Lighthouse, in Crescent City, offers historic lighthouse tours and is accessible at low tide.
