Looking for a great wilderness adventure but still wanting the comforts and convenience of a modern RV park? Well, come to Cantwell RV Park outside of Alaska’s Denali National Park. They are located on the old Denali Highway in the small community of Cantwell, Alaska. Cantwell RV Park is surrounded by mountains and close to rivers and streams. You can fish, hike, ride a bike, let out your ATV or photograph wildlife all nearby. An excellent view of Mount McKinley is right down the road. If you prefer company in your exploring, you can join them for their weekly complimentary fly-fishing and gold-panning excursions. Throughout the month of August, you can join the staff for their weekly blueberry-picking field trips.

While you are with them, you can do your laundry, shower in their sparkling clean facility and tell them about your recent adventures. Cantwell RV Park is known for the clean restrooms and showers and, in addition to compliments from our guests, we have been acknowledged in publications. In the book Traveler’s Guide to Alaskan Camping, authors Mike and Terri Church refer to the “squeaky-clean” restrooms and showers.

Cantwell RV Park is a family-owned and operated park, with the owner on the premises 24 hours a day. The park h as 68 pull-through sites with 20-30 amp service and 30 of these sites also have water hook-ups. There is a central dump station, covered picnic area, 2 communal fire rings, a courtesy 800 phone and wheelchair accessible facilities. They also have tent sites, rental units and a brand new rental cabin, just completed this year. There is a gift shop and mini-mart, information and registration desk, and staff on hand to make tour arrangements and answer questions. They are open from May 15 until September 15, will staff available 14 hours a day.

To add to your convenience, they have pet-sitting services. Your pet has a choice of staying in your RV, or staying with them as a guest in their home. They become part of their family for however long you need the service. They have had “guests” for several hours, all day, over night and sometimes for several nights. They are welcome to move about freely in their home, unless you have a kennel that you prefer for them to use while they are in the house.
