Crime, bond reform panel recommends changes to bond installment plan

Madison County, Ill., resident files objection to jail bond petitions

A Madison County, Ill., resident has filed an objection to the jail bond petitions. Recently, Bonds on Ballot presented an estimated 23,000 signatures to the Madison County Clerk's office calling for the $18 million jail bond issue to be placed on the March ballot for public vote.

Fugitive captures increase in Western Pa. thanks to task force

The Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force has muscled into a force that took 512 suspected killers, sex offenders, gang members and others off the streets in the past year. "The great performance of the fugitive task force makes Western Pennsylvania safer," U.S. Attorney David Hickton said recently.

FBI's Internet crime pilot project considered a success so far

An FBI pilot project rolled out to address the growing threat of Internet crime is seeing success. The project is a new way to share analyzed and detailed intelligence among all levels of law enforcement. Precise intelligence is collected from the Internet Crime Complaint Center — or IC3 — which receives Internet-related complaints from the public.
