Jenkins and Feldberg win KCWO

It was a beautiful day for disc golf here in Kansas City! The cloud cover kept the temperature down and there was practically no wind. The Kansas City Wide Open featured Swope Park's Gold Layout for the last round of the event, and it was here that we concluded the first half of the PDGA National Tour Elite Series presented by Vibram Disc Golf.More

Disc golf is hot, hot, hot
Austin Man Magazine
"It's like a hike, but you're throwing a disc as you go." There's not a much simpler explanation of the popular sport of disc golf than that given by Damon Neth, owner of Austin, Texas' Disc Nation equipment supplier and a longtime enthusiast. There's a bit more to the game, of course, but disc golf's allure comes from the simplicity of tossing a Frisbee-like flying disc around a modeled and usually wooded course and into a wire basket, which is analogous to the hole in ball golf.More

Disc golf thrives at Kansas City, Mo., parks
The Kansas City Star
It may be the most beautiful first hole in golf. The location: Water Works Park in Kansas City, Mo. One minor detail: this was the opinion of many disc golfers who competed recently in the 30th Annual Kansas City Wide Open, a national tournament. Disc golf is based on golf but involves throwing discs instead of hitting small balls, with the "holes" consisting of metal baskets with linked chains that will snare a well-thrown disc.More

The Am2 players who want to move up to Am 1, the Am1 players who want to start challenging the pros, and the rec players eager to see your scores go down."More

Spreading the disc golf word isn't always easy
Rattling Chains
Sometimes, it's not the most simple of tasks to get an area interested in disc golf. For more than two years, a few people - spearheaded by one person - have been trying to get a disc golf course at a local park. Though originally accepted with open arms, it's recently battled red tape and silly "roadblocks" in the quest to get the course in the ground.More
