FedEx, reporting a huge jump in profits, is
indicating the global economic recovery is gaining steam. The world's second-largest package delivery company says its fiscal third-quarter profit more than doubled from a year earlier. It also raised its forecast for full-year earnings — bringing it in line with Wall Street's projections — on expectations of "a continued modest recovery in the global economy."

Walgreen Co., the largest U.S. drugstore chain, said it is buying the prescription files and assets of 17 Super D and Ike's locations in and around Memphis, Tenn. Walgreen and USA Drug, which owns the Ike's and Super D chains, did not disclose financial terms.

spring in shopper's steps, according to a survey released. Consumers are expected to spend about $13 billion this Easter, the 5th biggest spending season of the year, according to the National Retail Federation, a retail trade group. That's up about 2 percent from last year.
