The Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association recently completed its annual conference as over 1,600 retail facilities management professionals gathered at the Nashville Convention Center for PRSM2011! National Conference.

Commencing with a Welcome Reception on Sunday, April 3 and continuing through end of day Tuesday, April 5, PRSM2011! offered a lineup packed with educational sessions, roundtable discussions, keynote speakers, networking opportunities, and a whole lot of fun in the Country Music Capital of the World, Nashville, Tenn.

Retail sales rise again in March, surprising analysts

Malls face surge in vacancies

Even as the economy picks up steam, many of the nation's malls and shopping centers are suffering a hangover due to changing consumer habits and the fallout from a massive building boom. Saks outperformed the rest of the category, recording an 11.1 percent same-store sales increase during the month. Andy Bond, the former chief executive officer of Wal-Mart Stores Inc.'s Asda chain, added to the woes of the British retail sector by forecasting the "retail recession" is still ahead.
