PRSM launches Janitorial Workload Tool for defining cleaning needs, creating scope of work and calculating budgets
PRSM
The new Janitorial Workload Tool, which will help define the necessary requirements for different levels of cleaning, defines an appropriate scope of work for Request for Proposals (RFP), calculating budget dollars for janitorial services and benchmarking a retailer’s current level of clean. The tool is comprised of an interactive spreadsheet that asks information about the store and desired level of clean. Then, the tool calculates the number of full-time staff required to accomplish the tasks. The tool bases the staff requirements on factors including, but not limited to, cleaning schedules, store type and productivity rate. Download the tool to see the easy "how-to" guide, cleaning task lists, an explanation of the different levels, and an evaluation form for retailers to gauge their current levels of cleanliness.

Canada's first shopping apartment offers real-life retail in a tiny downtown Toronto condo
The Financial Post
Technological enhancements to the way people shop have left many retailers scrambling to figure out how to deliver extra dazzle to consumers who walk through the doors of their stores. Farewell FAO Schwarz: Last day of business at New York City toy store
The Associated Press
Tom Hanks danced on a large floor piano there in the movie "Big." Multitudes of children wandered through the aisles over the years, hopped up on sugar from the candy store and wide-eyed with delight at the giant stuffed animals and other toys. And a fair number of parents winced at some of the price tags.
