Black Thursday? Thanksgiving sales numbers growing
CNN Money
Shoppers increasingly are shifting their buying to Thanksgiving Day, despite petitions against stores opening on the holiday — and the powerful lure of the post-turkey nap. Spending was up nearly 24 percent on Thanksgiving, and slipped about 7 percent on Black Friday, according to early Black Friday estimates from Shoppertrak, which monitors spending at and visits to brick-and-mortar retail stores.

Malls woo US shoppers with free rides, 'Frozen' palaces

Follow safety code for elevator maintenance and keep it handy
FacilitiesNet
A starting point for any elevator maintenance program is the safety code that's used, at times with modifications, by jurisdictions across the country. This is ASME's Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators. Section 8.6.1.2.1 of the code states that "a written Maintenance Control Program shall be in place to maintain the equipment." The maintenance program has to include examinations, maintenance, and tests of equipment at scheduled intervals. These activities are to be based on equipment age, condition, and accumulated wear, among other factors.

Energy-saving impacts of window film
