RBMA is soliciting volunteers to serve on a variety of committees and subcommittees. Much of the work of RBMA is carried out by RBMA member volunteers serving on RBMA's committees and subcommittees, supported by RBMA staff.

RBMA has 15 committees and subcommittees that are sure to capture one or more of your interests! Volunteering on multiple committees is permitted. Terms can be from one to three years. Committees typically meet via conference call or in person at RBMA's Radiology Summit, Fall Educational Conference or both! Committee members do not receive travel reimbursements.

CMS: Slow growth in U.S. health spending continued in 2012

The growth rate of U.S. healthcare spending in 2012 remained low for a fourth straight year, at 3.7 percent, according to a report in the January issue of Health Affairs. The numbers raise questions about whether there has been a permanent shift in U.S. health spending — or whether spending will bounce back as the economy improves. Even Medicare spending slowed, mainly due to smaller reimbursement increases, the analysis showed.More

Patient-generated data likely to grow as meaningful use moves forward

Stage 3 of the meaningful use incentive program will almost certainly expand the collection and use of patient-generated data, which could give a boost to technology such as home-monitoring devices and patient portals.
