Apply for RBMA fellowship by Feb. 28
The RBMA board of directors approved a fellowship program to recognize significant contributions made by RBMA members to the association and the radiology business management profession. The next class of fellows will be inducted at the RBMA 2013 Radiology Summit in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The Call for Fellows packet contains fellowship background information, examples of the fellowship criteria, and the administrative procedures for how to submit your application. Applications must be submitted online. The deadline to submit an application is Feb. 28.

ACR increases lobbying against further Medicare cuts to imaging

The ACR has increased efforts to protect imaging from further Medicare cuts, following the fiscal cliff deal that would cut $800 million from imaging over the next 10 years. Paul H. Ellenbogen, MD, chair of the ACR Board of Chancellors, sent a letter to high ranking members of the Senate Finance Committee, House Way and Means Committee, and House Energy and Commerce Committee criticizing repeated cuts to imaging to cover the one-year fix for the flawed Sustainable Growth Rate formula.More

Providers turn to consultants for ICD-10 prep

Electronic medical records probed for over-billing

The Obama administration is forging ahead with a multi-billion dollar plan to shift from paper to electronic medical records, despite continuing concerns the program may be prompting some doctors and hospitals to improperly bill higher fees to Medicare. An investigation into those billing questions — which convened a hearing Wednesday — has yet to produce much in the way of results, and critics are questioning the seriousness of the efforts. More
