RBMA member benefit: Forums
All RBMA members have the benefit of participating in RBMA Forums — the best way to network and share information. The forums are essentially listservs, allowing you to send and receive emails to/from your preferred email address — so you can post your own inquiries or respond to others without needing to leave the comfort of your own email account!
RBMA has seven active forums: Coding, Hospital Practices, ICD-10, Marketing, Payor Relations, Practice Management and Radiology Integration Models.
Forums are a members-only benefit, but RBMA does permit forum-only subscriptions to the Coding, ICD-10, Marketing and Practice Management forums for staff of RBMA members for a fee.
To subscribe yourself or a member of your staff to RBMA Forums, please click here! If subscribing staff, you will be sent an invoice. Once payment is remitted, their subscription will be activated.More

There is still time to register for a free audioweb on Post ICD-10-CM Preparation
CSI is offering RBMA members a free audioweb on Post ICD-10-CM Preparation. Implementing ICD-10-CM will not end with "go-live" on Oct. 1. Providers have dedicated a significant amount of time and resources to prepare for the new rules, new level of detail, potentially new coverage considerations. It is naïve to think that this implementation will proceed without any snags or forgotten details. This session will assist in ensuring that the resources invested in the implementation will not be lost to a misstep.

Arguments begin in high-profile radiology antitrust trial
The trial for a much anticipated antitrust case brought against Alliance Radiology by former employee and prominent radiologist Mark Idstrom has begun. Idstrom, who was terminated by Alliance in 2012 for what the company claims was declining performance, alleges he was fired without cause and that exclusive contracts between his former employer and local hospitals have kept him out of a job since his termination. Survey: Patients' expectations outpacing hospital IT adoptions
Hospital patients don't merely dislike dealing with paperwork. When filling out forms seems to slow the delivery of their care, even when hospital staff or clinicians wield the pen and clipboard, patients react viscerally. That's according to a Harris poll of 2,053 American adults commissioned by Ricoh, the Tokyo-based document-management company. More

Diagnostic Imaging (registration required)
More than occasionally, a glance at popular online radiology forums will yield at least one discussion thread about payment rates for different study types. Not what's being billed by hospitals or imaging centers, not what CMS or insurers are offering ... rather, what individual radiologists who are being compensated per interpreted study are receiving.
