Radiology administrators remained deeply concerned about future Medicare reimbursement rates, showing little confidence that they will receive adequate Medicare payments in the third quarter of 2013, according to data from the Medical Imaging Confidence Index. The forward-looking index surveyed 144 imaging directors and hospital managers, asking their opinions of five key trends typically encountered by radiology administrators. More

US delays deadline for finalizing Obamacare health plans

The Obama administration has delayed a step crucial to the launch of the new healthcare law, the signing of final agreements with insurance plans to be sold on federal health insurance exchanges starting Oct. 1. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services notified insurance companies that it would not sign final agreements with the plans between Sept. 5-9, as originally anticipated, but would wait until mid-September instead, according to insurance industry sources.More

HIX final rule details payment, appeals standards
