Deadline to submit application for vRad Education Scholarship is Dec. 1
Virtual Radiologic, a technology-enabled national radiology practice, has partnered with RBMA to provide RBMA members additional educational opportunities within the field of radiology.
vRad will award a $1,500 scholarship to RBMA members who have not attended an RBMA conference. The scholarships will cover registration fees and other costs qualified applicants incur for attending the meeting. Applicants must have been an RBMA member for at least two years.
The scholarship recipient will be able to use the scholarship to attend the Radiology Summit, May 20-23, 2012, at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando® in Orlando, Fla.

Medicare back on the brink over cuts to doctors

Unless Congress acts before Jan. 1, doctors face a 27 percent cut in their fees for treating Medicare patients. Radiologists report concerns about meaningful use program

Although a vast majority of radiologists qualify under the federal government's meaningful use incentive program for electronic health records, many have lingering concerns about the program. In a new survey of 216 radiologists, 40 percent said they had concerns about the lack of clarity of the guidelines or decreased efficiency as a result of adopting the current guidelines. More

However, in his presidential address at the RSNA 2011 meeting, Dr. Burton Drayer said he preferred to focus on the "rainbows instead of the impending storm clouds."
