vRad offers scholarship for Building Better Radiology Marketing Programs
Virtual Radiologic, a technology-enabled national radiology practice, has partnered with RBMA to provide RBMA members additional educational opportunities within the field of radiology.

vRad will award a $1,500 scholarship to RBMA members who have not attended an RBMA conference. The scholarships will cover registration fees and other costs qualified applicants incur for attending the meeting. Applicants must have been an RBMA member for at least two years.

vRad has expanded its offering to present a scholarship to RBMA's Building Better Radiology Marketing Programs on March 18-20, 2012, at the Westin Fort Lauderdale in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Scholarship applications will also be considered for the 2012 Radiology Summit. Submit your application by Jan. 13, 2012, and be sure and indicate which program you are interested in attending. Recipients for Building Better Radiology Marketing Programs will be announced on Feb. 3, 2012.

New MRI algorithm cuts scan time by two-thirds

A far quicker MRI scan is on the horizon. A new algorithm developed by MIT's Research Laboratory of Electronics cuts the imaging time by two-thirds, though they're still working on the back end processing time. Authors of the research say that a 45-minute scan can be done in 15 minutes without compromising much of the quality.More

Imaging costs outpace cancer care costs, but PET plays small part
