RBMA scholarships: No excuse NOT to attend an RBMA conference

Virtual Radiologic has graciously donated a total of eight scholarships to be awarded to RBMA members in 2012. The next vRad Education Scholarship will be awarded for the RBMA Building Better Radiology Marketing Programs seminar to be held March 18-20 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The Bob Luther Emerging Leader Travel Scholarship is now accepting applications. This scholarship is awarded to an RBMA member who has never experienced an RBMA conference and who is a first-time practice manager or interested in becoming a practice manager. Decision-support software reduces volume of CTPA exams

A combination of clinical decision-support software and a good rapport between emergency physicians and radiologists is credited for decreasing the number of CT pulmonary angiography exams ordered to evaluate acute pulmonary embolism. Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston was able to reduce the number of exams ordered by 20 percent and increase its yield by nearly 70 percent, according to an article in Radiology. More
