The deadline to reserve your room at the discounted rate for Building Better Radiology Marketing Programs is this Friday
RBMA
RBMA has reserved a limited number of rooms at a special rate of $179 per night, single or double occupancy. In order to reserve your room, your registration must be processed with an approved payment. Once your application has been processed, a confirmation letter will be emailed to you containing a code with which to reserve your hotel room at the special RBMA rate. This special rate is offered until Feb. 14, based on availability.

Scholarships deadline less than 2 weeks away!
RBMA
Each year, RBMA offers scholarships to assist members with attending RBMA educational programming. There are five scholarships remaining for 2014:

The Bob Luther Emerging Leader Travel Scholarship was created to give RBMA members who are first time practice managers or those interested in becoming a practice manager a chance to experience the value of RBMA. The yearly scholarship recipient is awarded the opportunity to attend either the RBMA Radiology Summit or RBMA Fall Educational Conference. The application deadline for the 2014 scholarship is Feb. 28.

RBMA has also renewed its scholarship program with vRad for another year, offering six vRad Education Scholarships to RBMA programs in 2014. Two of these have already been awarded!

Applications are now being accepted on a rolling deadline basis until all available scholarships are awarded. Please submit your application by the following deadlines:

RBMA
DataMAXX, RBMA's members-only financial performance benchmarking resource, has replaced and expanded RBMA's existing portfolio of surveys. It collects data and reports results on accounts receivable, procedure volume, compensation, and chart of accounts information including expenses, charges and income, assets and liabilities.

Practices may submit their data or billing companies may submit their clients' data; all respondents are eligible to download a report of the results free! Will saving on healthcare hurt the economy?

Lost in all the debate about whether the Affordable Care Act will hurt the economy is the fact that healthcare is already imposing a drag on growth. The healthcare sector has repeatedly helped to pull the economy from recession in recent decades, but this time around it is lagging behind the recovery. Healthcare spending grew more slowly than the economy in 2011 and 2012 and will probably be found to have done so again in 2013.
