Scholarship deadlines this Friday!

Thinking you probably wouldn't win? RBMA has received very few applications for both scholarships to date — why not give it a shot! A little time out of your day might result in attendance at the RBMA Radiology Summit in Charlotte, N.C., at a greatly reduced cost (no registration fees and some travel reimbursement)!

Applications are still being accepted for vRad Scholarships to the 2014 Radiology Summit. vRad Scholarships are available to current members of RBMA who have not attended an RBMA meeting in the past three years. The deadline to submit your application is THIS FRIDAY, March 7.

The Bob Luther Emerging Leader Travel Scholarship was created to give RBMA members who are first time practice managers or those interested in becoming a practice manager a chance to experience the value of RBMA. The yearly scholarship recipient is awarded the opportunity to attend either the RBMA Radiology Summit or RBMA Fall Educational Conference. The application deadline for the 2014 scholarship is THIS FRIDAY, March 7.

Fellow of the RBMA is a prestigious accomplishment to be held in high esteem by RBMA peers. RBMA is now seeking candidates for its 2014 class of fellows. The Call for Fellows packet contains fellowship background information, examples of the fellowship criteria, and the administrative procedures for how to submit your application. Applications must be submitted online. The deadline to submit an application is March 7.

RBMA mini-Survey closes this Friday — Let us know how the 2014 CT/MRI Medicare payment cuts will impact your imaging center
RBMA
RBMA is conducting a mini-Survey that collects information on the impact being faced by imaging centers and how they plan to cope with new lower Medicare payment rates for CT and MRI. Please complete this survey if you are employed by an imaging center or IDTF that is paid under the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. The survey is anonymous, and confidentiality of your response is assured; only aggregated results will be reported. Please click here to access the questionnaire. ICD-10: CMS agrees to limited end-to-end testing

Payors rushing to size up HIE enrollees

According to an article published in the Wall Street Journal, payors are clamoring to get the data on the four million people who federal regulators say have signed up so far for coverage in the health insurance exchanges. Rule-making process has begun for Stage 3 of meaningful use

Despite Stage 3 of the meaningful use incentive program being delayed until 2017, rule-making for the program is under way. And the Meaningful Use Workgroup of the Health IT Policy Committee, which advises federal officials on the program, recently released its first set of draft recommendations. The first draft of recommendations had a definite focus on patient engagement, coordinating care and measuring outcomes. It also included seven new objectives and several carry-over objectives from Stage 2.
