You better get your assets moving: Are participant contributions being contributed to your plan on a timely basis?
RBMA    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Two of the first things the Department of Labor looks at when auditing a 401(k) plan are the sponsoring employer's payroll records and the plan's trust records to determine whether the employer has timely contributed employee contributions to the plan. The Employee Retirement Income Security Act provides, with a couple of exceptions, that plan assets must be held within a qualified trust. More

Demystifying bank jargon
RBMA    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Just like many other professions, the world of banking is filled with abbreviations, slang and jargon. Understanding banking terminology is key to managing your financial relationships and to understanding your loan documents. Imaging Economics    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Although healthcare reform has already brought about a number of significant changes for imaging centers — electronic medical records, accreditation, and accountable care organizations, chiefly among them — there are still many unknowns. Federal proposals would limit aggressive hospital collections practices
Health Leaders Media    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Lost in the shuffle amid last week's U.S. Supreme Court decision is proposed legislation and a proposed regulation that each seek to address the issue of aggressive hospital debt collection. Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., introduced the End Debt Collector Abuse Act of 2012. The act would amend the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act to include medical debt and would set limits on the access that debt collectors can have to hospital patients. More
