RBMA seeking practices that have demonstrated value
Consistent with RBMA's motto of "Progress Through Sharing," the Radiology Integration Models Task Force is seeking case studies, either completed or in process, on how radiology practices are adding value to the health care enterprise.
All case studies will be displayed during a roundtable session entitled Value Innovation Lab on Monday, Sept. 28, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., during the 2015 RBMA Fall Educational Conference in Austin, Texas.
Members whose case studies are selected by the judging committee for their relevance and noteworthiness will be invited to present during the Value Innovation Lab. There will be time allocated at the end of the roundtable for networking and interacting with applicants.

Early adopters of these new tools often find themselves fighting through the ‘growing pains’ of any new process or system – mechanical or logical. How do you balance being an industry leader with protecting your patients and facility?
DataMAXX — Did you know? Compensation data collection opens soon
DataMAXX includes a module that collects data and reports compensation statistics for 66 administrative, clinical support, non-physician clinical and physician positions, as well as leave benefits statistics for seven employee categories. Compensation data collection is expected to open next week and remain open for approximately one month. Data submitted after the official reporting date will be available for reporting through DataMAXX.
With the newly designed Excel® questionnaire file format there are now four ways to submit your compensation data — and the Excel options do not require DataMAXX subscription, data upload or running report queries!
Watch your email or contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
- Complete the Excel questionnaire and email it to RBMA
- Upload a .csv formatted data file to DataMAXX
- Enter data directly into a Web interface in DataMAXX
- Print the Excel questionnaire, fill it out, and fax or mail it to RBMA
Using press releases to your advantage
A press release that gets published by a media outlet or even better, inspires a reporter to do an article about your business can quickly pay for itself in free advertising. However, to see a return on your investment of time and resources, press releases should be part of an overall public relations strategy.
Marketing your practice through annual reports
One relatively simple way to get a list of all of your value-added activities into the hands of referring physicians, hospital administrators and health system leaders is with an annual report.

Doctors: EHRs have not improved productivity
By Scott E. Rupp
The Physicians Alliance of America has found that EHRs increase physicians' administrative burdens and decrease their productivity. According to the survey of 250 pediatric, family medicine and internal medicine physicians, 67 percent of respondents said they spend at least a half-hour charting at the end of the day. This marks an overwhelming amount of charting for those using technology, which is meant to decrease the time spent charting and away from patient care.
