We can't spell VOLUNTEER without U!
RBMA is soliciting volunteers to serve on a variety of committees and subcommittees. Much of the work of RBMA is carried out by RBMA member volunteers serving on RBMA's committees and subcommittees, supported by RBMA staff.

RBMA has 15 committees and subcommittees that are sure to capture one or more of your interests! Volunteering on multiple committees is permitted. Terms can be from one to three years. Committees typically meet via conference call or in person at RBMA's Radiology Summit, Fall Educational Conference or both! Committee members do not receive travel reimbursements.

Visit for more information on RBMA Committees and complete a Volunteer Form to indicate your interest in volunteering! If appointed, keep in mind that your service will not begin until May 2014.

Marketing your interventional radiology practice
Interventional radiology procedures are expanding into an ever growing number of subspecialties. Marketing efforts are no longer directed only toward referring physicians. Successful interventional radiology practices educate referring physicians but also educate and market directly to consumers (potential patients), and each group has very different and specific needs.

Join Dianne Keen for the half day, deep dive session Interventional Radiology — Practice Development at RBMA's Building Better Radiology Marketing Programs seminar and find out the differences between marketing an outpatient versus a hospital-based practice, enlisting radiologists as both internal and external marketing champions, and creating a direct-to-consumer marketing campaign within this area of the radiology industry.

The growth rate of U.S. healthcare spending in 2012 remained low for a fourth straight year, at 3.7 percent, according to a report in the January issue of Health Affairs. Why half of all healthcare CEOs don't want to be in an ACO
HealthLeaders Media
In general, accountable care organization models are thought to carry too many variables and financial risks. Executives at smaller organizations balk because they see no structural model surrounding participation in ACOs that seems replicable. Nearly half of hospital and health system executives have no plans to implement an accountable care organization or ACO-like model in the near future. Instead, they're waiting for ACOs to become more stable and secure.
