A Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) contingent of approximately 2,000 personnel are in Northern Europe to participate in Exercise Trident Juncture 2018, NATO’s largest exercise in recent years.
From October 25 to November 7, 2018, more than 50,000 troops from 31 NATO and partner countries will train together to demonstrate that NATO forces are ready to counter any threat.

430 Tactical Helicopter Squadron celebrated a milestone in its history — its 75th anniversary — in a big way, with a series of activities and the publication of a book about the squadron.
The celebrations began on September 13, 2018, at the Quebec Garrison Club with the launch of a book paying tribute to 430 Squadron. After two and a half years of work, author and editor Marc-André Valiquette delivered on a tall order: a unique publication chronicling, in words and images, the adaptability and dedication shown by the members of 430 Squadron over the years in the defence of Canada.

Royal Canadian Air Force personnel at 16 Wing Borden, Ontario, welcomed a new honorary colonel on October 12, 2018, and said farewell to their former honorary colonel.
Colonel Pascal Godbout, commander of 16 Wing, presided over the investiture ceremony. Colonel Andrew Atherton, commander of Canadian Forces Base Borden where 16 Wing is a lodger unit, and Chief Warrant Officer Michael Charette, base chief warrant officer, were among the guests in attendance.

The Royal Canadian Air Force has concluded Operation Renaissance — Indonesia, a part of Canada’s humanitarian assistance efforts in Palu, Indonesia.
Over the course of the 14-day operation, at the request of the government of Indonesia, an RCAF CC-130J Hercules transported and delivered Canadian relief items and provided a tactical airlift capability to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian supplies in earthquake and tsunami affected areas.

L’Aviation royale canadienne a terminé l’opération Renaissance — Indonésie, un des volets de la contribution canadienne à la mission d’aide humanitaire à Palu, en Indonésie.
Pendant l’opération de quatorze jours, à la demande du gouvernement indonésien, un CC-130J Hercules de l’ARC a transporté et livré du matériel de secours canadien, en plus d’effectuer du transport aérien tactique afin de faciliter la livraison de matériel humanitaire dans les zones touchées par le séisme et le tsunami.
