Four individuals, including a First and Second World War Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) member, and an RCAF air demonstration team will be recognized by Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame (CAHF) in 2020. “In 2020, Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame will honour four Canadians and one organization for outstanding contributions to aviation,” said Rod Sheridan, chairman of the board for the CAHF.

U.S. aerospace giant Boeing is pitching its guarantee of billions of dollars of work for Canadian companies as well as keeping aircraft maintenance in country as it tries to convince the Liberal government to select a new version of the Super Hornet fighter jet. Boeing is hoping that new technology on the Super Hornet and its commitment to place as much as $30 billion of work with Canadian firms will result in it winning the competition to build 88 jets.

Rookie MP Anita Anand was named to one of the federal government’s toughest portfolios on Wednesday as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau rearranged his cabinet. Anand, a lawyer, takes over as Minister of Public Services and Procurement, replacing Carla Qualtrough, who became Minister of Employment and Workforce Development. Anand was elected in the October federal election to represent the riding of Oakville, Ontario.

CAE, Jazz Aviation (Jazz) and Seneca have teamed up to develop Jazz Approach, an innovative Canadian program to provide Jazz with a pipeline of top-quality first officers. Cadets will receive a letter of employment from Jazz upon selection into the program, allowing for a direct path to join the airline as first officers conditional upon successful completion of the program. The parties involved have signed a five-year partnership agreement and the first cohort is set to begin training in April 2020.

A brewing battle over the future of NATO could have major implications for Canada, which for decades has relied on the military alliance as a cornerstone of its security, protection and influence in the world. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to travel to London in December where recent comments by French President Emmanuel Macron questioning the viability of the alliance threaten to overshadow a celebration of NATO’s 70th birthday.

In particular, we need to reach out to the National Service and World War Two veterans, before it's too late. They put on the uniform of our country when we needed them to, the least we can do is be there for them when they themselves need our help.
