A famous contemporary Canadian once said: "Family isn't an important thing — it's everything."
We are quickly closing in on the end of 2017, and we are all looking forward to spending time with friends and loved ones. While the importance of family is ever-present in our minds — your families as well as our own — the words of Michael J. Fox seem to ring truest during the holiday season.

Skates were sharp on Dec. 1, 2017, for the second annual Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering (CFSATE) Charity Hockey Game between the defending champions, CFSATE staff, and the hockey elite of CFSATE's student population, with the goal of raising funds and food for the Angus, ON, food bank.
As word spread throughout the school that this year's student team was going to pose a significant challenge to the staff, the organizer, Corporal Aaron Pledger swiftly engaged with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization to secure a ringer by acquiring retired Toronto Maple Leafs centre Jack Valiquette to play with the staff team.

The Canadian and British governments recently appeared before a U.S. tribunal arguing against the imposition of duties on Bombardier planes, in a hearing highlighting the more aggressive use of trade remedies in Donald Trump's America.
Canada's ambassador to Washington said potential duties of up to 300 per cent on Bombardier's C-Series jet are illegitimate as he urged the U.S. International Trade Commission to cancel them in its final impending determination.
