Google to rank 'mobile-friendly' sites higher

More than half of Australia's biggest companies will "disappear" from Google on mobile devices as the US technology giant changes the way it ranks searches. Google will prioritize companies that have "mobile-friendly" websites when people use the search engine on their smartphones or tablet computers. Google says businesses with desktop-only sites will still appear in searches but they will be ranked lower then those tailored for mobile use.

Eurocrats are on an impossible mission to undermine Silicon Valley because in the digital world, size matters.

This means users can now chat on the Web without being on the Facebook page. For now, this new Facebook Messenger Web version will not be replacing messaging on Facebook. Under Fire In India, Facebook's Internet.org launches in Indonesia

Facebook's "free web" Internet.org program has expanded into Indonesia, a country with a 250 million population, marking its second largest launch in Asia to date. Internet.org landed in India back in February, but it has come under pressure in the country after net neutrality become a national topic following concerns around the launch of operator Airtel's zero-rating platform for app developers.

Comcast has announced that it will be launching a couple new tiers of internet service in the state with a new extreme 250 internet plan that brings speeds of 250Mbps. Customers who are currently on certain Comcast plans are also getting a speed boost.
