Safety measures demand postponement of trade show until March as Birmingham, Ala., area and surrounding South continue struggle to recover
SPPA
Sunbelt Promotional Products Association (SPPA) board members heeded safety officials’ calls to allow the Birmingham, Ala. to recover from a recent epic winter storm by delaying its Jan. 28-29 trade show at Cahaba Grand Conference Center until spring. Sunbelt originally believed it could delay the show until Jan. 30, but weather is dictating otherwise. The final decision was made in a specially called board meeting the morning of Jan. 29, after it was also discovered that many exhibitors from around the region are severely affected by the storm.

Wired
Squarespace Logo, the newest tool from Squarespace, has a simple goal: Demystify the design and creation process so non-designers can turn their ideas into glossy realities without spending too much time or money doing so. And yet, post-launch, professional designers across the web erupted, incensed by Squarespace's mission of making a design tool accessible to the masses. Some said the tool minimizes the hard work that goes into logo design. Others claimed this would put green designers and freelancers out of business. And a certain contingent just thought the logos are ugly.
