Registrations are strong for upcoming Fall Showcase
Supplier and distributor registrations for the upcoming SPPA Fall Showcase have been strong — and there is still a month to go. The Louisiana and Mississippi shows will feature 40 booths; Alabama will have more than 60. In the first week of preregistration, 75 distributors have already signed up to attend. "We're thrilled by the response we are getting and anticipate that these will be the largest traveling shows to come through the region," says Tim Hennessy, president of SPPA. Electricty provider makes promotional expenses a priority and reaps benefits with pot holders, night lights to save energy

Texas' Lubbock Power & Light spokesman Chris Sims recently told Lubbock's City Council the two most popular requests the municipal utility receives from customers. "Lower rates and pot holders," Sims said with a smile. But he wasn't kidding. LP&L for years has included in its promotional and advertising budget the cost of such promotional materials as night lights and pot holders adorned with LP&L logos and slogans to save energy, Sims said.
