US judge upholds most New York gun limits

A federal judge ruled that New York's strict new gun laws, including an expanded ban on assault weapons, were constitutional, but struck down a provision forbidding gun owners to load more than seven rounds into a magazine. The ruling offered a victory to gun control advocates at the end of a year in which efforts to pass new legislation on the federal level suffered a high-profile defeat in Congress, although some new restrictions were approved in state capitals.

New bill to protect gun owners' social security numbers

Concealed handgun owners wont have to give out certain private information anymore following a new bill in Texas. A list of bills concerning concealed handgun licenses have been in effect since September, and one more will go into effect beginning in January. When someone goes to get a license they don't have to provide their social security number.

'Duck Dynasty' launches its own line of guns

The family-owned business at the center of the hit TV show "Duck Dynasty" has launched its own line of guns. The gunmaker Mossberg has teamed with Duck Commander, the company owned by "Duck Dynasty's" Robertson clan, to release nine different shotguns, as well as two semiautomatic rifles and a semiautomatic pistol.

Getting a concealed handgun permit easier in 2014

Gunshots muffled by walls of insulation echoed through the store as Craig Muse shopped for a handgun. His grandmother stood at his side at the sales counter of Spring Guns and Ammo as a clerk handed him a weapon from a glass display case. Jayne Perkins already has a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

Company makes good on leaving Colorado over gun laws

One of the country's largest producers of ammunition magazines for guns is leaving Colorado and moving operations to Wyoming and Texas because of new state laws that include restrictions on how many cartridges a magazine can hold.

Magpul relocating to Texas, Wyoming in protest of anti-gun laws

In early 2013 Colorado legislators succeeded in passing a sweeping anti-gun package that included, among other things, a magazine capacity limit. Magpul, headquartered in Boulder, Colorado — and arguably the industry leader of AR-15 magazines and accessories — made a pledge to leave the state if the state governor signed the bill into law.
