San Antonio Express-News
More than 100 gun rights supporters, including several Republican candidates for statewide office and a former presidential candidate, rallied recently at the state Capitol against further restrictions on carrying firearms. Texas school district in hot water after Second Amendment misinterpreted in high school textbook
CultureMap Austin
A parent in Denton has taken to the Internet to voice his discontent over an Advanced Placement U.S. history textbook that summarizes the Second Amendment as when "the people have the right to keep and bear arms in a state militia." This is, of course, a loose, perhaps even incorrect, interpretation of the Second Amendment, which reads, in full: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Argyle ISD 'marshals' will soon carry guns on campus
Dallas Observer
Like air marshals', the identities of Argyle ISD's "marshals" will remain secret. This anonymous contingent of staff members, known only to school administration, the local police and the Texas Department of Public Safety, has been authorized to possess handguns on campus to respond to the threat of an "active shooter." The school board approved the policy in response to the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut.

John Cornyn and Steve Stockman Senate race is all about gun rights
The Washington Times
While 2013 was a year of Second Amendment advocates on defense, 2014 is lining up to be a year of gaining ground on gun rights. President Barack Obama continues to issue his dictates. Michael R. Bloomberg is still throwing around millions of dollars. And Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is just keeping a finger in the dike on Capitol Hill until the midterms. But the American people are ready to get back to strengthening their rights to keep and bear arms.
